As a distiller, you have in-depth understanding of the scientific, technological and business aspects of distilling and fermentation combined with relevant skills and knowledge in product production, testing and merchandising.

Niagara College’s Artisan Distilling program prepares graduates for employment in the expanding distillation industry. The program provides an in-depth understanding of the scientific, technological and business aspects of distilling and fermentation; and will prepare our graduates to be leaders in this rapidly expanding industry. The Niagara-on-the-Lake campus provides the perfect setting for this program as it offers leading-edge science labs, a fruit tree orchard, an apiary and the Niagara College Teaching Winery and Teaching Brewery.

Students have access to the latest technologies available for small batch fermentation and distillation processes. Our unique equipment configuration will ensure students gain relevant skills, knowledge and experiences in the production cycle of distilled spirits, including production, testing/analysis, and packaging/merchandising of products.
